Inspired by the carnival masks of Basel in Switzerland, Larval masks are semi-formed beings that are naive, curious and vulnerable. An excellent tool for improvisation, these large simple geometrically shaped masks amplify gesture and movement, encouraging the actor to make clear physical choices to create a theatrical dynamic that is compelling to watch! Study with Luverne Seifert to learn how to use these masks to help create comedic characterizations for the stage. All ages welcome, from tweens on up.
