Visit the children's One Room Schoolhouse and experience what school was like in the 1800's!
The Brown County Historical Society will be offering a One Room School House Experience at the school house at the Brown County Fairgrounds in New Ulm, MN. It is open to children that are entering grades 1st – 6th. This is a one day event held from 9:00am – 1:30pm on Tuesday, June 20 or Thursday, June 22, 2017. Cost of the program is $ 15.00 and the deadline for registration is Friday, June 19th. Class size is limited, so participants must pre-register.
Participants will experience writing, reading, arithmetic lessons, music, games and chores that made the one room school a unique part of our heritage. This year we go back to the late 1800s, and students will learn about a day in the life of a pioneer child. The students are encouraged to wear clothing of that era, although it is not necessary, just another fun thing to do! Students will also need to bring a cold lunch, in a basket or lunch pail.
Registration forms are available at the Brown County Historical Society, 2 N. Broadway, New Ulm, MN 56073. For more information, please call Amber at 507-233-2616 or email programs@browncountyhistorymn.org
