Students learn duties and responsibilities of first aid rescuers and first aid actions needed for common medical and environmental emergencies.  A few examples of the skills learned include caring for choking\, minor cuts and bruises\, broken bones and sprains\, sunburn\, heat/cold related emergencies\, allergic reactions\, animal bites and stings.  The class will also discuss how and when to make a 911 call.
