DESCRIPTION:Since Hurricane Katrina of 2005\, Government response to Disasters needs to comply with National Incident Management System (NIMS).  New Ulm Emergency Management is constantly preparing for many events that include:  flooding\, tornados\, ice storms\, and domestic terror. We need to try to prevent\, prepare\, respond\, recover and mitigate all significant challenges. Climate change & growing mental health crisis contribute significantly to future challenges. We serve the entire community and also\, rely upon the community's support and knowledge. This presentation serves as a great opportunity to share information and exchange ideas to build upon our emergency response involving future disasters. This program is free and open to the public. No pre-registration required. Hosted by the CAST Senior Center\, CAST Educational Programs were developed to reach a wide audience of senior citizens\, providing a variety of interesting subjects via in-person presentations and experiences. Scheduled year-round\, we host programs at the CAST Senior Center\, but also travel to area libraries\, museums\, places of interest\, and other Senior/Community Centers in our area to introduce Seniors to the many program opportunities that are available. Our programs are open to the public and there are no membership dues. Unless noted\, the programs are provided free and no preregistration is required. Carpooling is available for out-of-town trips. Check out our program schedule every month and join us for our next event. We look forward to seeing you!
